Coffee and Captivate: 3 Reasons Why You Won’t Want to Miss This Year’s Morning Line-Up

With just over a week to go until our 4th Annual Fitbit Captivate conference, you may be starting to wonder: What’s worth getting up early for, besides the plentiful breakfast buffet and fresh coffee? Why it’s the morning speaker line-up, of course.

Setting the Stage with Behavior Change & Innovation
This year, we’ve expanded our sessions beyond health and wellness to address important advances in digital health. It’s no coincidence that our theme is “Change Behavior. Change the World.” We believe the foundation for any successful health initiative is healthy behavior change, so we’ll have some experts on hand to share their insights on this topic as well.

To start things off, you’ll hear from James Park, Fitbit’s CEO and co-founder, about his vision for Fitbit’s future in health solutions. John Moore, Fitbit’s Medical Director, will follow with some exciting new platform announcements that help support the entire continuum of care.

Next, we are thrilled to announce our morning keynote speaker: Paul Sterling, Vice President Emerging Products for UnitedHealthcare. He’s responsible for integrating emerging technologies with personalized health benefit plans for the largest health insurer in the U.S. Get ready to take home some valuable insights from his talk: “Movement as Medicine, Evolution from Gadget to Meaningful Health Tool”.

Mid-Morning Breakouts: Innovative Approaches to Building Wellness Programs & Coaching Programs
After re-energizing and re-fueling at the FitBreak, attendees have the option of learning from Limeade CEO Henry Albrecht, who will share best practices for designing a customer-centric, truly personalized wellness program for employees. Or, if you’re interested in learning more about health coaching and how to take your program to the next level, you’ll want to grab a front row seat to hear from seasoned leadership healthcare coach Margaret Moore, CEO of Wellcoaches.

Late-Morning Breakouts: Sleep and Performance + Big Ideas in Digital Health
To finish off the morning, attendees can choose between two engaging yet entirely different digital health talks. In the “Sleep, Health and Performance” presentation by Michael Grandner, PhD, Sleep and Health Research Program, University of Arizona, you will walk away with a better understanding of how today’s sleep epidemic impacts real-world outcomes and how sleep tracking technology can be integrated with proven strategies to help improve sleep health. Or, pull up a chair for the “Big Ideas in Digital Health” fireside chat with Fitbit’s John Moore and digital healthcare strategist Nick van Terheyden, MD. Be prepared to brag to your friends back at the office about topics like how artificial intelligence is evolving to improve human engagement in wellness programs.

Stay tuned for highlights of our afternoon speaker line-up. In the meantime, check out the full Captivate agenda here.

We hope to see you in Chicago on September 20th.
